first_imgNeal Edward WamplerNeal Edward Wampler, 82, went home to be with his Lord on November 7, 2013.  “Sonny” was born June 12, 1931 in Wellington, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Leona Wampler, daughter Vicky Leigh and survived by his wife of 60 years Alice, son Alex (Cindy) Wampler, son Curtis (Edie) Wampler, daughter Trudy (Ed) Ehrhart, son Douglas (Jorie) Wampler, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his faithful dog Oscar, sister Wanda (George) Jeffries, sister Neola Heasty, sister Susan (John) Johnson, and dozens of cousins, nieces, and nephews.Neal grew up in Wellington and served in the Kansas National Guard and United States Navy during the Korean War, raised his children with his wife in Southern California, and “retired” to Mayfield, KS in 1989 from his work as a Master Tile Setter. Services celebrating his life will be at Mayfield Federated Church on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:30PM with Military Graveside Services to follow at Osborne Cemetery in Mayfield.Memorials have been established with the Mayfield Federated Church and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.  Contributions can be left at the funeral home.Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.To leave condolences or sign our guest book, please visit our website at www.frankfuneralhome.netlast_img
