Cardiologist Phoebe Ashley, MD, Providence Cardiology Associates explains “The Heart of the Matter – Women are not simply small men” during a free presentation Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Great Wolf Lodge from 7-8 p.m.“Gender does make a different in the risk for heart disease,” said Dr. Ashley. “Symptoms of heart disease in women can be subtle and less predictable.”Dr. Ashley is a board certified cardiologist at Providence Cardiology Associates with a special interest in women’s and preventative cardiovascular medicine. She was the medical director of the Cardiovascular Wellness and Rehabilitation program at the Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute and a clinical professor in the Division of Human Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Oregon before moving to Washington.
