first_img Siem de Jong in action for Newcastle 1 Newcastle new boy Siem de Jong has revealed he is facing more than six weeks on the sidelines after suffering with a thigh injury.The 25-year-old was one of nine signings under-pressure manager Alan Pardew made this summer, arriving from Ajax for £8m.De Jong had been expected to help spearhead the Newcastle attack this season after scoring seven goals in the Eredivise last year.However, Pardew will now have to contend without his new vice-captain for at least six weeks as the midfielder revealed he is on crutches.“For now I must spend the first six weeks on crutches,” De Jong told the Algemeen Dagblad.Although he is on crutches for six weeks, it is feared that the Dutch international could be out for over two months.last_img
