Men’s Golf Finishes Strong At Hoosier Invitational

first_imgBLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Drake University men’s golf team recorded the seventh-best round on the final round of the NYX Hoosier Invitational on Sunday as the Bulldogs finished tied for 11th place.The Bulldogs fired a 298 for a total score of 610 (312-298) and tied with George Washington as Western Illinois took home the team title with a 578.”I was proud the way the team battled in the tough conditions after we dug ourselves in too big of a hole yesterday,” Drake head coach Matt Lewis said. “Both Drew (Ison) and Jack (Kennedy) had solid finishes.”Freshman Jack Kennedy carded the lowest round of the day for the team with a two over par 73, totaling a score of 150 (77-73). Sophomore Drew Ison finished tied for 16th place after recording a 75 on the final round for a total score of 148 (73-75). Freshman Tommi Avant and senior Blake Huser also recorded a 75 and each finished with a score of 157 (82-75). Freshman Arjun Reddy wrapped up the Bulldogs’ performance with a score of 159 (80-79).Drake closes out the regular season on April 11 and April 12 at the ORU Shootout before heading to the MVC Championship on April 25 and April 26.  Print Friendly Versionlast_img
