Friday’s game against Missouri State begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+. Saturday’s match will begin at 5 p.m. and will available on ESPN3.Following a four-game road trip, the Bulldogs (9-15, 3-8 MVC) hope to continue their momentum following a comeback win against Valparaiso. In the win, sophomore Emily Plock finished with 20-plus kills for the third consecutive game, bringing her season total to 337 which is fifth in the MVC. Paige Aspinwall recorded a double-double in the match, totaling 32 assists and 16 digs.Missouri State (7-18, 4-7 MVC) won the first meeting between the two teams, 3-1, in Springfield. Junior Laynie Dake leads the Bears with 221 kills and 281.0 points. Missouri State is fourth in the MVC with 2.05 blocks per set.Southern Illinois (12-13, 4-7 MVC), who will face UNI prior to its match with Drake, defeated Drake, 3-1, in Carbondale on Oct. 4. The Salukis hit the road after a five-game homestand where they went 2-3, including wins over Missouri State and Illinois State. Senior Alayna Martin is averaging 5.5 assists per set and has also totaled 298 total digs. The Salukis lead the MVC with 141 service aces.A strong weekend for the Bulldogs could see them move up in MVC rankings, as they currently sit just one game behind the Bears and Salukis in the conference standings.
