Cameron and Kok, of St. Catharines, Ont., won the medal in lightweight double sculls today in a photo finish. “On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I want to offer my congratulations to Tracy and Melanie on their exciting medal win; you’ve made us very proud,” said Premier MacDonald. “It takes such tremendous dedication and perseverance to make the Olympics, let alone win a medal.” There are eight Nova Scotians participating in the Games, the most yet from the province in a Summer Olympics. “I know these young men and women are representing our province with pride,” said Premier MacDonald. “They are an inspiration to all of us, particularly the young athletes in our province who are training now with their own dreams of one day taking part in the Olympic Games.” Premier MacDonald conveyed his thoughts to Ms. Cameron in an e-mail.last_img
