PO Cruises celebrates 175 years

The evolution of cruising over the years has not slowed the company down with P&O Cruises UK reportedly carrying more British passengers than any other line. “We are very excited to announce this special day. It will be a great celebration for P&O cruises, our passengers and for the whole maritime world,” said Carol Marlow, managing director P&O Cruises. “What was once a national necessity is now a national pastime and is worthy of a grand celebration.” Each ship will set sail on individual heritage themed ‘Grand Event’ voyages following a send-off that is expected to include entertainment and champagne deck parties as they form a procession out of Southampton. The ships will meet once again in the open water and salute each other before continuing on their voyages.
